Offered since 1999 at this location by Sea Kayak Specialists, this is one of the longest running ACA Instructor Workshops on the Great Lakes. With the classroom facilities and on water location, this is also one of the best locations on the Great Lakes for hosting ACA Instructor Workshops. Sam Crowley and Nancy Uschold of Sea Kayak Specialists are two of the most experienced paddlers and Instructor Trainer/Educator on the Great Lakes and nationally. They have been instructing since 1996, running ACA Instructor Workshops since 1999 as well as paddling expeditions on the Great Lakes, both North American Coasts and Europe. 

These ACA workshops provide professional training that has proven popular with regional outfitters, paddling clubs and recreational paddlers. We take pride in the trust outfitters place in us to train their staff and in running a workshop participants highly rate for learning, quality and professionalism.
Held at Bay Cliff Health Camp in Big Bay, MI. It is a large camp that holds seasonal programs for adults & youth with physical disabilities. Bay Cliff’s location on Lake Superior ensures minimal driving. The indoor classroom is heated and outdoor classroom space is available as well. On water location includes a protected harbor with nearby sand beaches, break walls and cliffs that offers a dynamic location for training and assessing. 

Stay at Bay Cliff for a reasonable rate with family style meals (3 per day) that can accommodate many food preferences with adequate notice. Dorm style accommodations with limited private rooms available for extra fee. Heated rooms, dining area & showers. Past participants highly recommend staying at Bay Cliff over staying elsewhere as it saves time preparing meals and traveling.
