The Level 3 Coastal Kayak Trip Leader Award is a new program being offered by the ACA.

During this 2-day assessment, candidates will be demonstrate their own on-water leadership and group management skills, and be exposed to new concepts and techniques for safely managing a group of sea kayakers while exploring tidal coastal environments.

Successful candidates will develop and demonstrate skills to properly plan trips, choose venues, assess a group's abilities, manage play, and resolve problems that arise in ACA L3 Coastal Kayaking conditions (10-15 knots wind, 1-2 foot seas, 1-2 foot surf, 1-2 knots current).

All candidates will leave with a comprehensive action plan for continued development of their leadership and personal skills.
