A 12 mile race (or recreational paddle) on the scenic Class 1 Powell River in NE Tennessee. There are nine race categories with $150 cash for 1st Place in each race category and $50 for 2nd place. Entry fees are $35 for single kayak and $55 per boat for a double kayak or two-person canoe. Net proceeds benefit the Powell River Blueway Trail project to improve public access to, and public awareness of, the Powell River. The Powell is the second largest free-flowing (undammed) river in Tennessee and is sparsely populated with lots of wildlife. Free shuttle service back to start line for paddlers & boats.
