If you're going to start the paddle season out right, then it will be at the 4th annual "Gun Lake Paddle Battle” paddle race in Shelbyville, Michigan! Whether you are a seasoned paddler or always thought it "looked like fun", we have something for you. Once again, this event is the kick starter for the Midwest Paddle League racing series! And new in 2021 is the changing of course lengths to 5k and 10k and NO RACE DAY REGISTRATIONS. And as in 2020 we continue to offer divisions for surfskis and outriggers to ALL Shaka SUP Racing events - including this one! This 3000+ acre lake is a great place to enjoy a summer day...so why not start it out with a paddle race! Beginners and kids can participate in a short approx. 1 mile course and the advanced paddler can take it up a notch in the 5k and 10k distance courses. In addition, all Shaka SUP Races have a local charity component, so $5 of your $35 registration fee will go to support Gun Lake Protective Association whose mission is to keep Gun Lake beautiful for all to enjoy.
