PUBLIC INPUT INVITED ON DRAFT BLUEWAY PLAN Public Meeting to Be Held November 14 The public is invited to share their comments on the proposed South Shore Blueway both on the online forum and during the community discussion. The draft South Shore Blueway Trail Plan, map and design concepts are available on the project website www.southshoreblueway.com. Creating the trail with 22 access points was a collaborative effort of Nassau County, Village of Freeport, New York State, Town of Hempstead and the Town of Oyster Bay. A water trail is a route along a waterbody for people using small non-motorized boats like kayaks, canoes, day sailors or rowboats linked by various launches, rest stops and shoreline facilities that support water travel and the variety of natural, cultural and historic resources a traveler encounters along the way. The public is invited to attend the meeting to express their views and ideas about the draft plan on Wednesday, November 14, 2013. The meeting will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Freeport Village Hall, 46 N. Ocean Avenue, Freeport, New York. Comments on the draft plan will be considered through November 21 to develop the Final South Shore Blueway Plan. Comments will be accepted by e-mail to: info@southshoreblueway.com.
