Bonnie Perry Paddling is pleased to offer an ACA Instructor Update in conjunction with the West Michigan Coastal Kayaker’s Association (WMCKA). The update will be held May 22nd at 8:30 AM prior to the start of the annual WMCKA symposium on Lake Michigan.

Bonnie Perry will be working with Dave Wells, Naturally Superior Adventures, to provide a L3-L4 Coastal Kayak update for current instructors. L2 instructors may also join the update, at their current level, if it is decided that they are competent to paddle in the L3-L4 conditions.

ACA Instructor Maintenance Requirements: By the end of the 4 year certification period, the following minimum maintenance requirements must be met in order for the certification to be renewed for an additional 4 years:

• Maintain annual ACA membership and SEIC registration
• Instructors must teach and properly report a minimum of two classes every four years. At least one class should be at the highest level of certification.
• Successfully complete an Instructor Update during the certification period
