This course is ideal for the beginning kayaker or even someone that wants to learn new strokes and techniques. In this course we will cover the basics of sit on top kayaking including the following: *The Paddling Environment *Personal Preparation *Equipment *Getting Started *Safety & Rescue *Strokes & Maneuvers The majority of time in this class will be spent learning to properly perform 8 different paddle strokes. As part of the rescue component of this class, we will be flipping our kayaks over and spending time in the water. Please be prepared to get wet and spend some time swimming. Course runs from 9am until 4pm. Bring plenty of water,sunscreen, bug spray, a lunch and any snacks you might want. Course fee includes use of kayak, PFD, paddle, and bilge pump.
