Policy Initiative: Public Lands Package

Through the ACA's work with the Outdoor Alliance we've commented on a beneficial Public Lands Package:


Outdoor Alliance, The Outdoor Industry Association, and The Conservation Alliance write in support of the public lands package, S. 47, currently being considered in the Senate. Many of the bills under consideration in the package would have measurable benefits for conservation of our public lands and waters, the outdoor recreation experiences these places provide, and the thriving outdoor recreation economy that our public lands support.

The package represents a tremendous amount of bipartisan work from numerous Senators and their staff, and we encourage the Senate to pass S. 47 as it is presently constructed. Given the scope and ambition of S. 47, we felt it would helpful to highlight a few of the measures that are especially important to our organizations and broader communities...

Founded in 1880, The American Canoe Association (ACA) is a national nonprofit organization serving the broader paddling public by providing education related to all aspects of paddling, stewardship support to help protect paddling environments, and sanctioning of programs and events to promote paddlesport competition, exploration, and recreation.
